AOI, also known as automatic optical detection, has high-speed online type and 3D automatic optical detector. It is based on optical principle to detect common defects encountered in welding production.

AOI automatic optical detector products are mainly applicable to the high-speed and accurate detection, statistics and analysis of various appearance defects in the SMT (surface mount technology) and THT (through hole testing) processes in the PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) field, which is conducive to improving productivity, product quality and process, thus creating potential value growth for users.

AOI is a new emerging testing technology, but it has developed rapidly. Many manufacturers have introduced AOI testing equipment. During automatic detection, the machine automatically scans the PCB through the camera, collects images, compares the tested solder joints with the qualified parameters in the database, checks the defects on the PCB through image processing, and displays/marks the defects through the display or automatic marks for repair by maintenance personnel.

Use inspection equipment to monitor the production process, including detailed defect classification and component placement offset information. When product reliability is important, mass manufacturing with low mixing degree, and component supply is stable, manufacturers give priority to this goal. This often requires that the inspection equipment be placed at several positions on the production line to monitor the specific production conditions online and provide necessary basis for the adjustment of the production process.
